Franciscan Peace Center Launches Online Quiz to Raise Awareness About Nuclear Weapons Crisis

Promoting the Sisters of St. Francis' mission of active nonviolence, the Franciscan Peace Center is proud to announce the release of an engaging and educational online quiz in recognition of the anniversary of the tragic bombing of Hiroshima that took place on August 6, 1945. With this initiative, the organization intends to increase awareness about the critical issue of escalating nuclear weapons across the globe.

The online quiz, developed by the Franciscan Peace Center, seeks to educate individuals about the ongoing crisis surrounding nuclear weapons and foster a deeper understanding of the urgent need for disarmament. By testing participants' knowledge and providing valuable insights, the quiz hopes to inspire informed discussions and promote action toward a world free from the threat of nuclear warfare.  After taking the quiz, participants are invited to learn more about the nuclear abolition movement and take action on the Franciscan Peace Center’s website.

"As an organization committed to active nonviolence, we feel it crucial to raise awareness about the escalating dangers associated with nuclear weapons," said Laura Anderson, Director of Digital Outreach and Advocacy of the Franciscan Peace Center. "Through this interactive quiz, we hope to engage individuals from all walks of life and encourage them to join us in advocating for disarmament."

The Sisters of St. Francis took a corporate stand against the use of nuclear weapons in 2005, recognizing the devastating consequences they can inflict on humanity and the environment. With their unwavering commitment to peace, they have pledged to tirelessly advocate for disarmament and foster dialogue among nations to achieve a world free from the threat of nuclear devastation.

The online quiz is accessible to the public and can be found on the Franciscan Peace Center website at www.ClintonFranciscans.com/nuclear-weapons-quiz.

Participants will have the opportunity to test their knowledge of nuclear weapons, explore the history and consequences of their use, and gain a deeper understanding of the pressing need for global action.

"We believe that education is a powerful tool in promoting peace, and this quiz serves as an accessible platform to engage individuals in learning about the critical issue of nuclear weapons," added Anderson. "By participating in the quiz, individuals can contribute to the momentum of the disarmament movement and help create a safer world for future generations."

The Franciscan Peace Center encourages participants to share the quiz on social media platforms and to invite their friends, family, and colleagues to join in the effort to raise awareness and advocate for disarmament.
